ONE-OF-a-KIND JEWELRY

Mainly I work with natural materials  -
pearls, natural stones, leather, even
fossils  -  but crystal and handcrafted
glass catch my eye, too.

This watercolor is of the Big House at
Kingwood Center, which sits amid
beautiful gardens and green-
houses, in Mansfield, Ohio .  It's all
open to the public - and at no charge!
This spring painting is part of a
four-seasons series.  All of the
originals are already sold,  but note
cards are available at the Kingwood
gift shop, and limited edition prints are
also available there as well as here on
my website, at the
Mansfield Art Center
                   GLASS

I have been studying kiln-fired glass
with Susan Kutno at the Sarasota
School of Glass (wonderful instructor!)
and have done mainly table top pieces
and necklace pendants but also a few
functional pieces, such as serving
plates and dipping sauce bowls.

ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPTS

As I began studying manuscripts from the
Middle Ages, I realized that I could combine
several of my interests in one form of artwork.

And so it is that the pieces of this type that I
have done incorporate watercolor painting,
calligraphy and  Celtic knotwork design, and -
in some cases -  my own poetry or text.

                  PAINTINGS

Watercolors are another one of my
passions, especially  botanicals.
I've gone through various
phases, sometimes painting the
same  subject dozens of times.
There was the Trllium series, then
 Hostas,  Amaryllises.  Currently, it's
Orchids, thanks in part to the
extensive, inspiring orchid collection
at
Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in
Sarasota, Florida.

I just LOVE this!
(Author unknown)

Life should NOT be a journey to
the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive
and well-preserved body, but
rather to SKID IN SIDEWAYS,
chocolate in one hand, wine in
the other, body thoroughly used
up, totally worn out and
screaming, "WOO HOO, what a
ride!"
